Magister Academy offers the ideal conditions for learning sailing, windsurfing canoeing and diving whist learning English language. The Maltese islands are blessed with ideal sailing, wind surfing, canoeing and diving conditions. Students have an opportunity to combine any language course with learning how to become a qualified sailor, surfer or diver.

Sailing courses are conducted under ISSA (International Sailing Schools Association) international standards.

Sailing for the First Time (Course level 1 Ref. SL1)

This course is the first step to become a competent dingy sailor. At the end of the course they would be able to sail a Topper or Topaz under supervision.

Course of 12 hours in four lessons of 3 hours in two consecutive days or in four half day lessons.

Sailing – Intermediate Course (Level 2 Ref SL2)

Ideal course for those students who want to sail on their own, unsuperived but in closed waters, like harbours and bays. Introduction to theory and rules of sailing, launching and recovery and safety precautions.

  • Course of four individual lessons of three hours each taken either on three consecutive days or four half day lessons.
  • Apart from course certificates, sailing log books can be requested at nominal ISSA fees.

Wind Surfing – Beginners Course (Level 1. Re WS1)

This course is defintely for those who have never tried the sport of windsurfing. Lessons using appropriate beginners’ boards, are all done under constant supervision leading participants to learning the first steps to beome windsurfers.

This 12 hour course can be taken on two consecutive days or four half day lessons. All four lessons of three hours each.

Certificates awarded after completion.

Wind Surfing – Intermediate Course (Level 2. Ref WS2)

This couse is a follow up of level 1 and is intended for those students who wish to learn windsurfing on their own, unsupervised in closed waters.

It is a twelve hour course in four lessons of three hours taken on two consecutive days or four half day lessons.

Certificates awarded after completion

  • Course of four individual lessons of three hours each taken either on three consecutive days or four half day lessons.
  • Apart from course certificates, sailing log books can be requested at nominal ISSA fees.
