Fees:
The Academy reserves the right to change fees without prior notice.
Registrations:
All information relating to Magister Academy has to be received by our school not later than 7 days prior arrival.
Payments:
Payment should be received in full by Magister Academy not later than two weeks prior to the date of arrival. Students should e-mail or fax a copy of Bank payment. A non refundable registration fee of 45€ per student will be charged.
Magister Academy may refuse a student whose fee does not arrive within the stipulated time.
Payment may be made in Euro or the equivalent amount in any currency, which will be converted to Euro at the rate of exchange on the date received.
Payments may be effected by bank transfer or credit card (Add 5% for payment with credit card). Magister Academy or our bank receive 30% of payment as deposit with full settlement 3 days prior to commencement of course. Payments should be made to :

Payments Method – Online Payment Gateway:
The student/payee can book through our website and pay directly with their credit card online. The payment gateway is secured using SSL Encryption technology. SSL technology is designed so that the information you enter on your browser is encrypted before being transmitted. All credit card details are processed by Endevour IBS, a PCI compliant payment company. All credit card numbers are used solely for the processing of payments and are not stored by Magister Academy.
Refunds and Cancellation Fees:
The school will give no refunds once the students has started his/her course. In certain cases the school may consider offering credit for future courses. Cancellation of booking has to be received in writing and is subject to cancellation fees as follows:
Between 2-3 weeks prior arrival: 50€ + registration fee + visa administration fee (When applicable).
Between 1-2 weeks prior to arrival: 1 week tuition and accommodation fee + registration fee + visa administrative fee (when applicable).
Less than a week prior to arrival: No refund will be given once the student has commenced his/her course and/or fees are not transferable.
Students who are absent for lessons get no refund. Changes in course and accomodation after confirmation are subject to a €50 administration charge.
Public Holidays:
10th February, 19th March, 31st March, 22nd April, 7th June, 29th June, 15th August, 8th September, 21st September, 8th December, 13th December, 25th December, 1st January.When Public Holidays fall on a weekday, school lessons will be made up as much as possible but not necessarily to the full.
Reduction of Lessons: Magister Academy reserves the right to reduce the number of lessons in class due to insufficient number of students. The lessons will be reduced as follows:
If 1 student in class: General English; 10 lessons per wk. Intensive/Exam; 14 lessons per wk.
If 2-3 students in class: General English; 12 lessons per wk. Intensive/Exam; 16 lessons per wk.
Timetable:
The school reserves the right to change the times of the lessons. Students can have morning or afternoon lessons or both. One-to-one courses: Magister Academy reserves the right to offer this course at any time of the day.
Complaints:
Complaints must be made in writing to Magister Academy during the duration of the course. Magister Academy cannot be held liable for compensation on any complaint received after the client’s departure.
Exam courses:
Magister Academy will advise students depending of their English level. Magister Academy reserves the right to refuse student admittance to any examination course if they feel the student’s level is below the required standard level.
Junior package:
Any Junior summer packages are provided with 24 hours supervision. Welfare officers and leisure officers are available on call 24 hours/ 7 days a week.
Accommodation in Residence:
In a shared room of 2/3 people
Packed lunch:
Consists of a bread roll/sandwich, a 50cl bottle of water and fruit.
Laundry:
Laundry in residence is not included (at extra charge).Foreign group leaders accompanying groups of 15 students are offered accommodation in sharing room (residence/host family)
Minors:
For any unaccompanied minor aged from 8 to 12, a Magister Academy representative is required to remain at the airport until children check in. A charge of 25€ applied.
Force majeure:
Magister Academy shall not be responsible for any costs incurred by or on behalf of any student caused by force majeure. Such cause may include but is not limited to losses, damages, cancellations or delays, strike action, civil strife, or terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disaster and unusually adverse weather conditions.
Beach club:
The school can, but is not obliged to, offer discounted beach club ticket during week days.
Liability:
The directors, management, and staff of Magister Academy, will be not liable for personal accident and/or the theft, loss or damage of personal property belonging to students.
Magister Academy staff will not be liable for any decision taken by local authorities. That includes any decision regarding entry visa or visa extension. Magister Academy recommends that students take out adequate health, travel, and accidental insurance while attending our programmes.
Medical Emergencies:
Magister Academy must be fully paid back for any medical or related expensed costs it may incur on behalf of any student who requires urgent medical attention in Malta or needs to be immediately repatriated, at the student’s expense. This condition also applies to serious medical and psychological conditions.
Time of lesson and books:
Magister Academy reserves the right to change the lessons time and may use classes in alternative premises. Students may need to purchase course books as they move to higher or lower level.
Magister Academy reserves the right to alter any service, descriptions and fees without notice provided that any subtitle offered at least the same standard, quantity and quality level of offered originally.
Discipline:
Magister Academy reserves the right to take any disciplinary measure, including expulsion, and/or expatriation. For the following:
Alcohol and illegal drugs, damage to properly, bad behaviour, (that disturb, annoy), endangering the health, safety, and comfort of others, not adhering to curfew, or breaking law and order.
Any repatriation will be at the expense of the client.
Clients must pay before departure any damages to school, residence and host family. Clients must pay a deposit of 50€ for minors (under18) and 100€ for adults. This deposit is refundable on departure less part or full; 10% will cover damage caused to furniture, fittings and buildings itself. If cost exceeds this amount deposited the client must pay difference in full before leaving.
Personal data:
On enrolment with us, applicant, or agent consents to and authorises Magister Academy to process any personal data, in accordance with Data Protection Act of Malta. This information can be used as deemed necessary for the successful provision of the services enrolled for any purpose associated thereto.
General Information:
General English and Children’s Courses are held from Monday to Friday from 9:00 – 10:30, 11:00 – 12:30 (20 sessions). Other Courses and extra sessions will be arranged on request. New students will be informed on arrival about the time of their placement test. Junior Courses do not include 24-hour supervision.
On arrival students will be provided with a Welcome Pack including an area map, student card and a Welcome Letter. The welcome letter will indicate the time the student will be expected at school on the first day. On the first day of school students will sit for a 45 minute language ability test followed by an interview to best assess the students‘ level of English.
Magister Academy offers free accomodation in a twin room for foreign group leaders with a group of 20 students. Magister Academy reserves the right to cancel or change any activity due to insufficient number of participants, unfavourable weather conditions and circumstances beyond the control of management, for example transport strikes etc..
